Research Team

The research team of the UPV, responsible for subproject 1 ENGODRAIN is composed of:

  • Ignacio Andrés Doménech (IAD): Profesor Contratado Doctor of the Hydraulic Engineering area and member of the Instituto de Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente, principal investigator (IP) of subproject 1 and general coordinator of the project, specialist in hydrological and hydraulic modelling, precipitation analysis, sustainable drainage and support tools for decision making.
  • Miguel Martín Monerris (MMM): Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Environmental Technologies area and member of the Instituto de Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente, specialist in water pollution, water treatment, constructed wetlands, water quality models.
  • Vicent Benedito Durá (VBD): Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Ecology area and member of the Departamento de Ingeniería Hidráulica, specialist in ecosystem services, environmental assessment and social considerations.
  • Eduardo Albentosa Hernández (EAH): Profesor Titular de Escuela Universitaria of the Hydraulic Engineering area and member of the Instituto de Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente, specialist in pluviometric characterization, mathematical modelling of hydrological and hydraulic processes in urban areas, and environmental assessment of infrastructures.
  • In addition, the following researcher will take part in the working plan of the project, without being member of the research team, according to the call rules:

  • Sara Perales Momparler (SPM): Doctor linked to UPV, manager of Green Blue Management, specialist and frontrunner of SUDS technologies in Spain and specialist on transition strategies towards sustainable drainage.

The research team of the UC, responsible for subproject 2 MELODRAIN is composed of:

  • Jorge Rodríguez Hernández (JRH): Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Construction Engineering Area, main researcher (IP) of the subproject 2, specialised in pervious pavements and sustainable drainage.
  • Cristina Manchado del Val (CMV): Assistant PhD Professor of the Area of Graphic Expression in Engineering, specialised in Geographich Information Systems (GIS) and sustainability indicators.
  • Ignacio Lombillo Vozmediano (ILV): Profesor Contratado Doctor of the Area of Mechanics of the Continuous Media and Theory of Structures and Coordinator of the Group of Technology of Edification of the UC (GTED-UC in Spanish), specialised in infrastructures rehabilitation and urban regeneration.
  • Agustín M. Ascorbe Salcedo (AAS): Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Area of Hidraulic Engineering, specialised in risk analysis, hydraulics and hydrology.
  • In addition, the following researchers will take part in the working plan of the project, without being members of the research team, according to the call rules:

  • Juan Carlos Canteras Jordana (JCJ): Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Area of Ecology, specialised in multicriteria analysis and environmental and sustainability indicators.
  • Francisco Ballester Muñoz (FBM): Catedrático de Universidad of the Area of Construction Engineering, specialised in sustainable construction and new construction materials.

The research team of the UDC, responsible for subproject 3 POREDRAIN is composed of:

  • Jose Anta Álvarez (JAA): Profesor Contratado Doctor of Hydraulic Engineering Area and member of the GEAMA research team, main researcher (IP), specialized in urban drainage modelling in physically based models and with numerical models, including pollution mobilization.
  • Joaquín Suárez López (JSL): Profesor Titular of Environmental Technologies Area and member of the GEAMA research team, main researcher (IP), specialized wet weather pollution characterization of urban systems, water quality assessment and SUDS design.
  • Alfredo Jácome Burgos (AJB): Profesor Titular of Environmental Technologies Area and member of the GEAMA research team, specialized in water pollution and wastewater treatment, wetlands and advanced wastewater treatment.
  • In addition, the following researchers will take part in the working plan of the project, without being members of the research team, according to the call rules:

  • José Manuel Álvarez-Campana Gallo (JMACG): PhD – Profesor Asociado of Environmental Technologies Area at UDC, specialist in integrated water resources management and environmental assessment.
  • Vicente Jiménez Fernández (VJF): PhD linked to UDC, specialized in highway stormwater characterization and treatment techniques.
  • Juan Naves García-Rendueles (JNGR): Predoctoral student of the UDC (FPU Spanish national program), specialist in urban drainage modelling and rainfall simulators.
