New steering committee meeting of the FIBRA project

The optimal design of Fiber-Reinforced Asphalt Mixes for different pavement layers, including asphalt concrete and porous asphalt for the wearing course are being finalised with very promising results.

A new steering committee meeting of the FIBRA project was held today at EMPA (Dübendorf, Switzerland) facilities. Recent outcomes have been discussed as well as the problems found and the exciting challenges that are still to come.

First milestone of the project completed!

Two fibres have been selected for the reinforcement of asphalt mixes. The decision-making consisted on a literature review, laboratory testing and the application of a multi-criteria decision making method.
