New steering committee meeting of the FIBRA project
A new steering committee meeting of the FIBRA project was held today by videoconference. The optimal design of Fiber-Reinforced Asphalt Mixes for different pavement layers, including asphalt concrete and porous asphalt for the wearing course are being finalised with very promising results.
In this sense, first contacts will be taken with the National Road Authorities of the Netherlands and Norway (Rijkswaterstaat and Statens Vegvesen) in the following weeks to plan the implementation of two pilot sections in these countries. Both CEDR members will support the implementation of two pilot sections that will enable the long-term performance evaluation of the asphalt mixtures and the validation of the LCCA assumptions developed in the FIBRA project.
