MAPSIA presents innovative pavement technology at Data Science for Pavement Symposium 2023
Publication Date: 31 March 2023
MAPSIA, the low-cost computer vision system based on Deep Learning, has recently participated in the Data Science for Pavement Symposiums 2023 (DSPS23) held online from March 28-30. The symposium was organized by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Missouri Center for Transportation Innovation (MCTI), and the University of New Hampshire. This event aimed to advance data science technology in the field of pavement engineering, and MAPSIA was there to contribute with its innovative approach to pavement distress detection.
Saúl, one of the creators of MAPSIA, presented the talk "Pavement Distress Detection: A Deep Learning Approach" as part of the Lightning Round 2. He discussed how MAPSIA uses computer vision and machine learning algorithms to detect and classify pavement distresses accurately, which helps to reduce maintenance costs and increase road safety.
The symposium was a great opportunity for MAPSIA to showcase its ground-breaking work in pavement engineering and network with industry leaders and experts in the field. MAPSIA's participation in DSPS23 reinforces its commitment to revolutionizing pavement engineering and advancing the use of technology in the transportation sector.
