Presentation at TRA 2022

Pablo Pascual-Muñoz and Francisco Somohano, from the University of Cantabria (Spain), and Hrefna Run Vignisdottir, from SINTEF (Norway) attended the TRA 2022 congress in Lisbon (Portugal) and presented their respective papers: "Supporting the implementation of renewable energy technologies in the road infrastructure (ENROAD)" and "Estimation of environmental impacts from renewable energy technologies for application in a multi-criteria decision model". It was a very pleasant experience, although unfortunately for Pablo and Francisco, the trip was really short for work reasons.

First Workshop for stakeholders integration

Last October 20, the first of the Workshops with the National Road Administrations (NRAs) involved in the ENROAD project took place. In this case, several road and energy stakeholders from Belgium-Flanders participated in the Workshop organized and coordinated by Arup in which potential oportunities and unresolved needs were sought in relation to the regulation conditioning the implementation of energy projects along the road asset. Thank you very much to all the attendants !!

Attending the TRA 2022 !!

The papers “Supporting the implementation of renewable energy technologies in the road infrastructure (ENROAD)” and “Estimation of environmental impacts from renewable energy technologies for application in a multi-criteria decision model”, submitted to the Transport Research Arena 2022, have been accepted for publication in the Conference Proceedings. Therefore, regardless of the form of presentation (either oral or poster), we are looking forward to attending this exciting event and meeting you all. See you in Lisbon !!

Making good progress

After months of gathering and analysing lots of information regarding the technical, financial and legal aspects of the use of renewable energy technologies (RETs) alongside the road asset, we are now approaching the most exiciting stage of the project. During these days, the ENROAD partners are mostly focused on two tasks: the preparation of the workshops to be celebrated with NRAs and other road and energy stakeholders of different countries, and the development of the GIS-based tool that will help the NRAs to assess te impact of implenting RETs in their roads.

Abstracts sent to the TRA Conference 2022

Two abstracts have been submitted to the Transport Research Arena 2022, one of the most important international events of the transport sector. The conference will take place from 14-17 November 2022, in Lisbon (Portugal), and it will bring together experts from all around the world to share and discuss about innovations in a number of very interesting topics: smart solutions and society, green mobility and decarbonisation, innovative infrastructure for Europe 2030, and policies and economics for a competitive Europe.

The ENROAD project has officially started !!

Last Tuesday 3 November, a meeting of the ENROAD project was held with all the members of the consortium: SINTEF, ARUP and the University of Cantabria. Along with a general overview of the project (objectives, work programme, milestones and deliverables), the management structure and the contractual framework were introduced, and the first actions to be taken were set.

Kick-off-Meeting of the ENROAD project

Last 1 October 2020 the KoM was held of the project Supporting the implementation by NRAs of renewable energy technologies in the road infrastructure (ENROAD), to which representatives attended of the institutions that conform the consortium, Per Antvorskov as Programme Manager of the CEDR Research Call 2019 in which ENROAD was allocated, and the members from the Project Executive Board (PEB).

Unfortunately, the meeting had to be held online for COVID19 reasons, but I guess we all had good feelings about the project and we are all committed to its success. We will keep you posted !!
